About Us

Dedicated to excellence in aquatic sports, New Trier Aquatics empowers athletes of all levels through expert coaching and a strong team culture.

New Trier Aquatics (NTA) is a not for profit aquatics program affiliated with USA Swimming, USA Water Polo, and US Masters Swimming. Founded in the 1980’s, NTA has produced many state champions, and has consistently placed in the top 5 of all teams in the state of Illinois. NTA is committed to excellence in aquatic sports for all of its members. We have a dedicated coaching staff and a supportive parent board that work together to create a positive atmosphere for all our athletes.

New Trier Aquatics boasts a membership ranging from toddlers to retirees and provides instruction, training and competition at a level appropriate for the age and ability level of the athlete. We train all athletes, from the novice to the national level competitor.

We offer year-round programs in a controlled competitive environment for all abilities. Our athletes thrive in a training atmosphere that promotes respect for others, nurtures high self esteem, and fine tunes physical fitness.

Before athletes can register for NTA, they must be evaluated by our coaching staff and accepted for registration. This enables our coaches to place athletes in the appropriate practice group. Tryouts are held in April and August, prior to the start of the Long Course and Short Course seasons. Notice of the tryout date is posted on our web site well in advance.

When a young person becomes a member of New Trier Aquatics they learn the values of sportsmanship and teamwork. Practicing with NTA can provide physical, emotional and intellectual skills that will last a lifetime.

Subject to capacity and other considerations, the membership of NTA is open to any athlete in the New Trier Township, and if NTA so decides, any other athlete may be considered for membership. For details of our membership criteria, please click the "Join Us" button above!

Practices are held at the Baker Demonstration School, Loyola Academy, New Trier High School, Old Willow Club, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and the Centennial Family Aquatic Center. Practice times and team fees will vary depending on the ability level of the athlete.
