Sharks Take on Irvine: 2026 Speedo Junior National Championships

Best-on-best racing highlights the end of the summer season

Four Sharks flew to Irvine, California, for this year's Summer Junior National Championships hosted by USA Swimming. This annual event brings in the top 1% of 18&Under swimmers in the country for a week of intense, best-on-best racing.
We've got a great, young team that promises to make this an exciting meet for years to come!
Our athletes stepped up to the blocks and delivered some incredible performances.
Meet Highlights
- Lubo Liu-Tchorbadjiyski (Age 14) led the way for NTA by earning a second swim in the 50 Back. He finished an impressive 18th overall with a finals time of 26.45. Lubo also had a busy meet schedule, competing in the 100 Free, 100 Fly, 50 Fly, and 50 Free.
- Jordan Ko (Age 16) had an outstanding meet, swimming personal best times in every one of his individual events. Jordan clocked a 1:05.19 in the 100 Breast, a 56.67 in the 100 Fly, and a 2:21.23 in the 200 Breast.
- Riley McNeal (Age 16) had a strong showing across the breaststroke events. She swam a personal best of 1:13.47 in the 100 Breast and also competed in the 50 Breast and 200 Breast.
- Tyler Zheng (Age 16) rounded out our crew of national competitors. He raced hard in the 50 Breast, finishing in 29.90, and the 100 Breast, finishing in 1:06.85.
What's Next for NTA?
The Sharks are now on a short break until the season starts back up on August 24th! Rest up, enjoy the rest of your summer, and get ready to hit the water hard in the fall.
