May Madness Magic: NTA Sharks Swim to New Heights!
Huge drops, first-time feats, and perfect meets at UIC

The CWAC May Madness meet, hosted by the Chicago Wolfpack at the UIC Flames Natatorium, brought out the absolute best in our swimmers. Competing against several of the top teams in the state of Illinois, the Sharks stepped up to the blocks and delivered some incredible performances!
Here is a recap of the weekend's biggest highlights, from flawless meets to massive time drops.
100% Best Times
A huge shoutout to the swimmers who achieved a personal best in every single event they swam this weekend! Earning a best time every time you touch the water is a rare and exciting feat.

Stepping Up to the Challenge
It takes courage to dive into the longer and more grueling events on the schedule. We are incredibly proud of these athletes for stepping up and either completing these difficult events for the very first time, or absolutely crushing their previous personal bests!
- Evan Li (8): Crushed his 50 Fly, dropping nearly 9 seconds!
- Reagan Frankle (9): Crushed her 50 Fly and successfully conquered the 200 Free for the first time.
- Henry Logan (9): Successfully navigated the 200 Free for the first time.
- Nikolas Nikonchuk (9): Absolutely crushed both the 50 Fly and the 200 Free with massive time drops.
- Scarlett Wessel (9): Crushed her 50 Fly and successfully swam the 200 Free for the first time.
- Joseph Kennedy (12): Showed great endurance and crushed his 100 Fly.
- Avi Bodner (14): Absolutely crushed the grueling 200 Fly and 400 IM combo, dropping a combined 68 seconds across both events.
- Demetre Kvirikadze (14): Dominated his first attempt at the 200 Fly and crushed his 400 IM by over a minute!
Exceptional Swims
We saw some jaw-dropping time drops and elite-level swimming this weekend. These swims represent massive chunks of time taken off in a single meet!
- Fabricio Gonzalez Pulido (12): Dropped a massive 2 minutes and 10 seconds in the 400 Free, dropping from 7:57.57 to 5:46.63!
- Demetre Kvirikadze (14): Shaved an incredible 1 minute and 16 seconds off his 400 IM, going from 6:52.70 to 5:36.00!
- Avi Bodner (14): Took an impressive 40.54 seconds off his 200 Fly, touching the wall at 3:00.05!
- Leo Chen (13): Dropped a huge 29.59 seconds in the 200 IM, finishing in 3:30.60!
