Sharks Make Waves at 10&Under State Championships

NTA Swimmers Show Up Strong at 10U State

The New Trier Aquatics Sharks headed to Libertyville High School over the weekend to compete in the 2026 Illinois Swimming 10&Under State Championships. The Sharks brought the heat, with some fantastic swims and impressive time drops.

Scoring Sharks The following swimmers scored points for NTA with fantastic top-16 finishes:

• Adam Mallett (10) - 9th in the 100 Free (1:13.93), 13th in the 400 Free (5:45.31), and 16th in the 200 Free (2:43.47)
• Layla Roeder (9) - 11th in the 100 Breast (1:38.01) and 15th in the 200 IM (3:08.15)
• Nikolas Nikonchuk (9) - 15th in the 100 Breast (1:41.95)
• Henry Logan (9) - 16th in the 400 Free (5:49.86)

Relay Results The Sharks also had some great, point-scoring relay swims!

• Girls 10&U 200 Medley Relay: Emma Malalis, Layla Roeder, Scarlett Wessel, and Amelia Silverberg placed 10th with a time of 2:44.69.
• Boys 10&U 200 Medley Relay: Henry Logan, Nikolas Nikonchuk, Adam Mallett, and Lucas Kim finished 12th with a time of 2:44.49.
• Girls 10&U 200 Free Relay: Amelia Silverberg, Emma Malalis, Scarlett Wessel, and Layla Roeder took 12th with a time of 2:25.06.

The Sharks are back in action on Tuesday, August 4th for the Open Water State Championships in Lake Manteno!
