Sharks Rule the Pool at the 2026 ISI Summer Regional Championships!

A gold medal finish as Swimmers Drop Huge Times and Lock In State Cuts

The New Trier Aquatics Sharks delivered an absolute masterpiece at the 2026 ISI Summer HPAC Regional Championships hosted by the Highland Park Aquatic Club. Swimming with pride, heart, and unrelenting energy, the Sharks captured top honors across the board, finishing 1st Place in the Girls Division (2,026.50 points), 1st Place in the Boys Division (2,191 points), and taking home the Combined Team Championship with a total of 4,217.50 points!


State Qualifiers

A huge round of applause goes out to the swimmers who added events to their state meet lineup! Through winning their events or hitting the CHMP standard during the meet, the following swimmers have secured their spots:

Consistency and focus were on full display all weekend long! Special recognition goes to the following swimmers who achieved personal best times in every single individual event they completed:

Major Drops

Conquering challenging events and seeing the hard work pay off in massive time drops makes it all the sweeter! We are super proud of these absolutely exceptional breakthrough performances:

  • Aaron Langdon (13) conquered the 1000 Freestyle with a 46.34-second drop!
  • Adam Mallett (10) dropped 7.63 seconds in the 100 Butterfly!
  • Beatrice Schaeffer (15) dropped a massive 58.18 seconds in the 1650 Freestyle!
  • Brandon Ko (12) chopped 14.69 seconds off his 200 Backstroke!
  • Caroline Cho (12) sliced 10.95 seconds off her 200 Butterfly!
  • Chelsea Marden (13) shaved 46.00 seconds off her 1000 Freestyle!
  • Daniel Liberman (14) dropped 10.83 seconds in the 200 Butterfly!
  • Declan Meade (13) crushed the 400 IM with a 25.46-second drop!
  • Kyle Rechlicz (15) took down the 400 IM with a 22.56-second drop!
  • Mabel O'Donnell (11) dropped 7.65 seconds in the 100 Butterfly!
  • Nikolas Nikonchuk (9) had the drop of the meet, slicing an incredible 56.76 seconds off his 500 Freestyle!
  • Ozan Samikoglu (14) sliced 23.16 seconds off his 400 IM!
  • Reagan Frankle (9) sliced 16.03 seconds off her 200 IM!


Sharks Back in Action Across THREE Championship Meets This Week!

The championship momentum doesn't stop here! The Sharks are currently competing across three major meets this week:

  1. NCSA Summer Junior Championships (Indianapolis, IN): 22 Sharks are racing at the IUPUI Natatorium through Sunday! Team, state, and NATIONAL age group records have already fallen!
  2. Illinois Swimming Senior State Championships (Westmont, IL): 35 NTA swimmers are competing at FMC Natatorium through Sunday. The meet kicked off Thursday night with the 800 Freestyles, where the Sharks already grabbed a medal!
  3. Illinois Swimming 10&U State Championships (Libertyville, IL): 10 of our youngest Sharks head to Libertyville High School this Saturday and Sunday to take on the state's best!
