On Monday, October 20th, 2025, we had the honor of hosting a special two-hour clinic at Loyola with three world-class athletes: Michael Andrew, Mikel Schreuders, and Patrick Sammon.

Meet the Pros

Our swimmers got to learn from some of the best in the sport.

• Michael Andrew is a U.S. Olympic gold medalist, known for his innovative training methods and incredible versatility in the water, particularly in the sprint events and individual medley.
• Mikel Schreuders is a two-time Olympian from Aruba who has competed at the highest levels, including the FINA World Championships, and was a standout collegiate swimmer at the University of Missouri.
• Patrick Sammon is a rising star on the U.S. National Team, making a name for himself in freestyle events and representing Team USA in international competitions.

A Day to Remember

The trio spent two fantastic hours with our team, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

They generously shared their Olympic and World Championship medals, giving our athletes a tangible piece of swimming history to hold. The pros led drills, offered technical advice, and patiently answered every question thrown their way, providing invaluable insights into what it takes to succeed.

The afternoon was filled with inspiration and fun, as our guests posed for photos, signed autographs, and even raced against our swimmers.

The Main Event

A major highlight of the day was the friendly showdown between the three pros and our very own coach Michael Deans. Michael held his own in an exciting race against these swimming giants. It was a thrilling moment that showcased not only the incredible speed of the visiting athletes but also the great spirit of our team and our coaches.
