Sharks Rise to the Occasion in Libertyville
From first-time distance swims to flawless records, New Trier Aquatics athletes showed up ready to race at the Rise A+ Meet.

The New Trier Aquatics Sharks competed at the RISE A+ meet at Libertyville High School this past weekend, delivering a performance defined by grit and speed. With a focus on racing tough and improving technical execution, the team racked up an impressive number of personal bests.
A RECORD BROKEN!
Hat's off to Ella Houston for breaking her own team record in the 500 Freestyle! Ella swam the race in 4:54.15 to break her previous record by over a second and a half!
The Perfect Performance List
It is difficult to swim a perfect meet, but these athletes managed to achieve a Personal Best time in every single event they successfully completed (minimum 2 events):
Eleanor Augustine, Joseph Kennedy, Emily Macklis, Adam Mallett, Melody Youkhana.
Multi-Best Time Achievers
We also want to celebrate the depth of our team. The following swimmers dropped time in four or more of their events, showing impressive versatility across the board:
Elise Abbasi, Maeve Atwood, Caden Cook, Hannah Davis, Michael Dukach, Joseph Kennedy, Brandon Ko, Daniel Liberman, Matthew Logan, Edward Saviski, Beatrice Schaeffer, Violet Schumacher.
Braving the Tough Stuff
Stepping up to swim a "hard" event for the very first time takes courage. We are proud of the following swimmers who successfully completed these challenging races for the first time in their careers:
- Nathan Faynshteyn (8&U) conquered the 200 Free for the first time.
- Ryder Guloy (9-10) also successfully raced the 200 Free for the first time.
- Luka Radisic stepped up to the blocks for the grueling 400 IM and finished strong with a time of 5:20.57.
Exceptional Swims
There were several jaw-dropping performances this weekend where Sharks crushed their previous bests by significant margins:
- Ryder Guloy had a breakout performance in the 100 Fly, dropping over 14 seconds (a 14.5% improvement) to finish in 1:21.90.
- Daniel Nikonchuk decimated his seed time in the 400 IM, dropping nearly 14 seconds to touch the wall in 4:30.87.
- Aiden Molinski showed incredible endurance in the 500 Free, dropping 16 seconds to break the 6-minute barrier with a 5:54.12.
